Your author hopes that the reader had an enjoyable and enriching Christmas. Enjoy it now because if the American Left had their way the holiday would be known as Holiday Season or some other general phrase to describe their secularist views.
The two female stars for the Democrat party are obviously Senator Hillary Clinton, carpetbagger representative originally from Illinois, later Arkansas then New York and soon to be House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from San Francisco, who is originally from Baltimore. Without even so much trying these two ladies have proven to your author they are out of touch and void of any understanding when it comes to the average American, the one who doesn’t like paying taxes and who voted for Blue Dog Democrats during the mid term 2006 election.
Let’s begin with Nancy Pelosi because she is quickly passing up Clinton in entertainment value. Following the laundry list of ethic scandals and their inability to form a cohesive unit, the Republican Party was ousted in favor of center-right Democrats that wisely campaigned on the obvious. Soon to be Speaker Pelosi stated that she will have the ‘most ethical House ever’. She has already proven such as she attempted to have Representative John Murtha, a war hero who is no hero to our military, as Majority House leader. He received a public smack as Blue Dogs said ‘no way’ and elected Steny Hoyer. Pelosi then flirted but never publicly stated that disgraced and disbarred former Federal Judge and Florida Democrat Alcee Hastings would be an ideal leader for the Intelligence Committee. Between public outcry and Blue Dogs remembering who put them in office said adios to the idea and instead Representative Silvestre Reeves received their support.
Reader, Pelosi is once again showing the American public that she is ethical and can relate to the average American. No it isn’t the questionable labor practices she uses as it relates to her family’s business portfolio that pushes their wealth ranking into the 10% who many on American Left say control all of America’s assets. It has to do with the festivities for her ascending to the throne as House Speaker. Be sure to mark this date-January 7, 2007, 7:00PM at the National Museum Building, 440 G Street North, Washington DC. Here is the rundown for musical guests: Tony Bennett, the legendary crooner who has enjoyed resurgence in his career, 1960s pop sensation Carole King and for the younger crowd, Wyclef Jean, Haitian sensation within the reggae-hip-hop musical genre (a style commonly known as reggaeton).
From Hollywood, actor Richard Gere who is better known for being a Buddhist and supporter of Dalai Lama, than any film he has starred in and television producer Amy Brenneman will be providing their thoughts. Ms. Brenneman, an Ivey League graduate, is best known for the program Judging Amy and for also collecting signatures of 5,000 women who were unashamed for having abortions in an October 2006 issue of Ms. Magazine for a piece entitled “We Had Abortions”.
The tickets for this gala affair are priced at a grand per head. There are no discounts, no two for one or if you buy so many, several more will be thrown in at no charge. No single mother specials or pissed off veterans against the Iraq War group packages. This is the elite.
This affair is only one part of a big bash. The whirlwind hoopla actually encompasses four days of hobnobbing and champagne sipping. Day 1 (Jan. 2) will begin with Pelosi returning to her family’s political roots-Baltimore. Her father served three terms as the city’s Mayor. For whatever reason, probably founded in the rah-rah surrounding the Soon to be Speaker’s gender (being the first female Speaker), the press machine has decided to state that Pelosi is the ONLY daughter of a three term Baltimore Mayor. Mark that down because if big media folks are telling you such, it must be important and of consequence! Then off to San Francisco to highlight her political success, which given the left leaning bastion of the city is probably no tall order, which will highlight her involvement in fundraising and finally back in DC, which will also involve a discussion of her graduating from Trinity College. In between there will be tea and plenty of discussion involving her Italian roots as if growing up in Baltimore and campaigning in San Francisco gave her an understanding of Mediterranean culture. Afterwards an exhausted Pelosi, giddy over the fact that at 66 she has become the first female Speaker, will be sworn in.
Meanwhile Senator Hillary Clinton aka Hillary Rodham Clinton is finding that maybe America doesn’t want her as President. Note, this will be spun by the big left leaning media machine as ‘America isn’t ready for a female leader’, no they just don’t want Senator Clinton.
In Iowa during a recent poll conducted by KCCI-TV of Des Moines, 600 viewers were telephoned and the final tally showed Senator Clinton trailing. The first two tied, Barack Obama of Illinois, he of little policy, big words and author of a recent book and former 2004 Vice President Nominee, one time North Carolina Senator and ambulance chaser John Edwards. Iowa governor Tom Vilsack took the third spot and in fourth place was Senator Clinton. The good news for Clinton is that 2000 Presidential sore loser Al Gore and Ted Kennedy’s second fiddle, Massachusetts Senator John Kerry took the last two spots. According to the New York Daily News, a New Hampshire poll conducted by the Concord Monitor shows Obama and Clinton neck to neck; with Edwards and Gore trailing in the background.
Folks as we inch to the 2008 campaign for the White House watch as the Democrats shoot themselves in the foot. Obama has been touted as the hip vote although he brings little to the table. Clinton, one part of the dynamic duo that is critical for fundraising, must have her spot. Ones on her side will say she deserves it. The blue blood crowd the Clintons run with will call for it. However mom and pop America remembers President Bill Clinton’s campaign promise that when you got him, you also got her, ‘two for the price of one’. Yes President Clinton we know what we got when got both of you and continue to be reminded of such when thoughts of terrorism or looming concerns over inflation creep into our psyche or when we think about Arkansas’s poor public education ranking and where the prized couple built their political base.
Between Pelosi and Clinton, along with the gaggle of other Democrats such as Murtha, Biden and others; the prospects of plentiful comedic fodder in 2007 looks good. Once again the Left will surely not disappoint. Happy 2007! All is well in America.
