Iran and their colorful President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad captivate the US media machine like so many other Mid East tyrants. Now at the same time many in the media machine are starting to question our relationship with Israel, a democrat society that has had success with free markets and is a longtime US ally. Many cry that all the problems in this region of the world are caused by Israel’s very existence. Strange how a tiny sliver of land is causing what looks to be World War III. What is even stranger is that the media machine probably took less time than it takes to brew a cup of coffee to come to that conclusion. This undoubtedly warms the cockles of Ahmadinejad’s heart as he has stated his pleasure in removing Israel from the globe.

Readers the problem is the big media machine, once again, is on the wrong side and not telling the bigger picture. When your author uses the phrase ‘big media machine’ he is referring to most major US newspapers, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, the forgotten MSNBC and even Fox News, which is lowering their standards to fully takeover the majority of viewing audience previously held by some of these outlets. Recently Fox News devoted thirty minutes to the panty-less antics of Britney Spears and the weight loss of Nicole Richey, following her experimentation with driving directions and pills.

The big event that seems to have not factored into the Katie Couric and Larry King analysis is the recent elections and changing demographics in Iran. Also the big words spoken by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are really a song and dance being controlled by puppet master Muslim cleric and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. It should be noted that the Ayatollah Khamenei is the absolute last word and Ahmadinejad’s ideology is inline with the ruling clerics.

Just this past week Ahmadinejad and his crew received a major blow with their political clout as the demographics spoke loudly.  Iran’s total population is estimated to be at 70 million. The largest portion of this population rests with the 20-40 year old crowd, which accounts for than two thirds of their total citizenry falling within this age range, who has long demanded change, moving away from the extreme Muslim rhetoric in favor of capitalism and free markets. For such an oil rich country, Iran’s has had a historical relationship with hyperinflation in the neighborhood of 200-400% and poverty still inflicts nearly 20% of their population.

Iran’s government akin to the US Congress is The Assembly of Experts. The Assembly meets twice a year and possibly their greatest power is their ability to can the Supreme cleric. The team around centre politician and former Iranian President Akbar Rafsanjani has been credited with leading the electoral success, which produced significant gains in the local and national elections.

All of this is widely available via international news sources. However here in the US none of this matters only the rant and maniacal threats expressed by Ahmadinejad. Maybe the Israelis knew a thing or two when they pushed into Lebanon and by all accounts looked further seeing Tehran. This military engagement was of course criticized by the United Nations, who just stated they will have to table proposed sanctions against Iran and other left wing thinkers not fully appreciating the situation facing Israel. Then again maybe these same supposed intelligent folks gladly suffer fools as they watch the behavior of blond bimbos?
